Returning to Indonesia and the Philippines in May.....

.....It's only been five months since I was in China but I've already started going through overseas withdrawal pains.

This has the potential to be a really nice job.....lots of time off in interesting locations. I'll be working with Chevron again (same as my trip to Indonesia last year) and will have the same interpreter in Jakarta and he is excellent. This trip will be refresher training which means I'll have small groups for only two days at a time.

I'll leave Houston to Los Angeles on April 27 then fly through Taipei, Taiwan and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Jakarta.

In Jakarta, I'll be staying at the Mulia Hotel which is considered one of the finest in Asia--truly a full five-star luxury hotel. They could save $4,000 airfare by having me fly in early so I'll arrive in Jakarta and have three days layover before I start working. Of course, jet lag usually hits hardest on the second or third day after arrival. I'll then work four days and have a weekend off then work another two days.

On May 11, I'll fly from Jakarta to the Philippines and will be staying in Makati City, which is in the heart of Manila. I've worked in the Philippines with the State Department earlier and really like the country. The day after arrival, I'll do a two-day course then have the weekend free. Last time I was there, a typhoon was developing and much of the tourism in the mountains had closed down so maybe this time I can get up into the countryside and do some sightseeing.

I will then do four more days of work then have an complete day off before flying out late at night on May 20--connecting through Singapore--and finally arriving in Houston May 21.
