Heading Back to the Balkans with a Trip to Bosnia May 6-12.......

.....a country with a long, colorful and often troubled history.

From the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand that precipitated World War I, hosting the Winter Olympics in 1984 and the brutal war and holocaust in the 1990s, Sarajevo is loaded with recent history. This ancient area is one of the parts of the Balkans I haven't visited yet.

I'll have 4 1/2 days to explore--mostly in Sarajevo--but I hope to do at least one day-trip to the Ottoman Turk city of Mostar.
